Judy Sheindlin, also known as Judge Judy, is a former American family court judge. She is also an author, philanthropist, and court show arbitrator. She is well known for starring in her show ‘Judge Judy’ on CBS. The series premiered in 1996 and aired the last season in 2021. Judge Judy changed courtroom programming and gave the genre a new lease on life.
Judy passed verdicts on countless family matters in her show and never hesitated to give a piece of her mind to the parties involved in the cases. First Marriage Of Judy Sheindlin
Judy Sheindlin first got married to Ronald Levy in 1964. Ronald Levy was then a prosecutor in a juvenile court. They have two children together; a daughter named Jamie Hartwright and a son named Adam Levy. Judy and Ronald got divorced in 1976 after almost 12 years of marriage. Her son Adam Levy was also a New York District Attorney, while her daughter is out of the limelight.
The reason for their divorce, Judy claims, was her job. After their marriage and the birth of two children, Judy had taken a break from legal duties. When after some time Judy wanted to restart her job, Ronald wasn’t that interested in that. She blamed the lack of support from her husband as the major reason for their divorce. In her own words, she described the situation as “Ronald viewed my job as a hobby and there came a time where I resented that.”

Second Marriage Of Sheindlin
Judy then married Jerry Sheindlin in 1978. Jerry was a court arbitrator on The People’s Court from 1999 to 2001. They briefly divorced in 1990 before remarrying in 1991. Judy became the stepmom to Jerry’s three kids Gregory Sheindlin, Jonathan Sheindlin, and Nicole Sheindlin. Gregory and Nicole followed their stepmom and are in the legal arena as lawyers. Her stepson Jonathan is a surgeon.
Judy and Jerry got divorced in 1990, the year Judy’s dad died and she was mentally down. She was neck-deep in her grieving process and just wanted her husband to take care of her. When Jerry wasn’t able to take care of her, she warned him of a divorce.
Jerry became upset because of it and dared her to file for divorce. The very next day Judy filed for divorce and they separated. However, soon after both missed each other and they rekindled their relationship. Later they remarried in 1991 and have been together since.
