Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon, AKA Lola Leon, daughter of Madonna, has now released her first song as Lolahol, called ‘Lock & Key‘. It’s got a real electronica vibe that nods to her superstar musician mom. The Eartheater-directed clip sees the 25-year-old star dancing and singing in a cemetery, on a beach, and around New York City’s outer boroughs while dressed in edgy outfits.
The song portrays pink and death-themed vibes. This song was debuted just the year after the singer told in an interview that she just “doesn’t care about having a music career.”

Death-Themed ‘Lock & Key’ By Lourdes Leon
Now, there’s a lot going on in this video, which is simultaneously pink and death-themed. There’s Leon caressing a guy in a cemetery, an SUV with a coffin perched on top, and she goes for a ride half-in and half-out of a car across a bridge with a driver wearing a skull mask.
Toward the end of the video, Leon writhes on the shore wearing nothing but a silver padlock-style necklace and tangle of ropes, performing splits and backbends on the sand with a fishing net wrapped around her waist. Chemical X Records also told in an interview via YouTube that a headstone is just the right place for a date in ‘Lock & Key’.

Lady Gaga Reference In The Song That Stirred The Internet
At one point in the song, Leon sings, “No sleep, next plane, no sleep, make up, next club, next car, next plane, no sleep, no fear,” which reworks Lady Gaga’s classic monologue from a Fuse Interview. The words, which crop up about a minute and a half into the video, pair with Leon emerging from a car in a sparkly hoodie and equally sparkly pasties, which also feels like a Gaga reference (from around her ‘Fame’ period). The internet has gone ballistic over the death-themed connotations colliding with Lady Gaga’s reference.
“I don’t have a specific goal,” Leon said in the Interview chat. She cleared that modeling was for her a “smart decision,” but she’s also into dancing, “aesthetics,” and possibly acting. “I think it’s about finding a role that wouldn’t be too far off from who I am already. Honestly, actors really annoy me and I can’t be around them,” she said. “As for music, I can sing. I just don’t care about it. Maybe it’s too close to home.“
It is still obscure whether Leon will be pursuing her music career thereof. However, her discovery in finding her own unique sound is now aiding her to break into the music industry. ‘Lock & Key’ is Leon’s solo debut, however, she did once work with her mom on ‘Superstar’ from Madonna’s ‘MDNA’ album in 2012. Let’s stay tuned for the forthcoming hits from Madonna’s firstborn.
