Who Was Karl Lagerfeld?
From Germany, Karl Lagerfeld moved to Paris as a teenager with the goal to make a name for himself in the fashion industry. And that was what he certainly did. He began working with various fashion houses before he associated with big names like Fendi, French brand Chloe and finally Chanel. He connected with various fashion labels initially, which totally helped the fashion industry to move to a whole another level.
Lagerfeld played a significant role in reviving back the luxury brand, Chanel, as it was facing digression after a decade of its founder’s demise. The fashion icon established his own label in 1984. The fashion genius was also the creative director for the 2005 Met Gala, with the theme “The House of Chanel”. Due to complications related to pancreatic cancer, Lagerfeld passed away on February 19, 2019.

What Can We Expect From The Upcoming Met Gala?
With the theme announced by Anna Wintour, the editor of Us Vogue in a press conference in Paris, as ‘Karl Lagerfeld: a Line of Beauty’, speculations can be made about what the celebrity looks would be like. The theme was scheduled for the 2021 Met Gala but was dropped due to the pandemic. Lagerfeld was a more futuristic designer who never wanted fashion to be shunned inside the walls of a museum. But the Met Gala would truly bring back and honor the creative genius.
These are possibly some of the looks that one can look forward to at the 2023 Met Gala. It would be no wonder to see most stars clad in dresses from Fendi and Chanel.
