Justin Bieber Refused Usher’s Offer To Join Him For Super Bowl Performance
As the leading artist of the Super Bowl halftime show performances this year, Usher had extended an invitation to Justin Bieber to join him. But unfortunately, the ‘Baby’ singer wasn’t keen on the idea, according to sources reported by Page Six.
Speculations about Bieber being a part of the halftime show lineup were rife on social media before the big game. The collaboration would have marked a get-together between Bieber and his longtime friend and mentor Usher. However, those hopes were dashed when Bieber refused to join Usher and instead opted to watch the show from the luxurious suite of Fanatics co-owner Michael Rubin at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, his wife Hailey.
Some insiders reportedly revealed that even though Usher tried to persuade Bieber to participate in the show, the latter wasn’t feeling the performance. The duo shares a history since Bieber’s early career when Usher played a pivotal role in shaping his rise to global stardom.

Bieber’s Struggle With Anxiety Might Be One Of The Reasons He Refused To Perform For Super Bowl
Another reason why Bieber may have declined the offer is his recent struggle with anxiety and health issues, which he has been quite open about. The singer has also been public about his diagnosis of Ramsay Hunt syndrome in 2022. Since then, Bieber has not been quite in the limelight and is trying to navigate his way back.
Despite the challenges, Bieber recently made a comeback with a live performance at Drake’s History Club in Toronto. The performance marks his return to the stage after more than a year.
Though he did not perform during the Super Bowl halftime show, Bieber soaked in the Super Bowl weekend festivities as he attended Rubin’s star-studded party at Marquee Dayclub In Las Vegas. He was spotted mingling with celebrities like rapper Travis Scott among others at the party.
However, his absence from Usher’s halftime lineup sparked mixed reactions on social media. While some expressed disappointment over Bieber’s absence, others commended Usher’s star-studded performance including appearances by Alicia Keys, H.E.R., Lil Jon, Ludacris, Jermaine Dupri, and Will.i.am, among others.
Usher’s show garnered an impressive viewership, with over 30 million households tuning in, according to recent figures. Though Bieber might have missed out on the halftime spotlight this time, his presence at the Super Bowl was certainly felt.
