She is everywhere, and we are here for it! Zendaya has become a global star with the immense talent that she possesses and the body of work she has done. The actress forayed into acting through Disney shows like ‘Shake It Up,’ and ‘Frenemies.’ Since then, she has been conquering Hollywood, playing the emotionally vulnerable, Rue in ‘Euphoria’ and the mystic Chani in ‘Dune.’
Zendaya is the epitome of a triple threat—an actress, model, and singer. The actress has been the face of many brands and fashion houses, like Valentino and Bulgari. Zendaya Never Believed That She Can Be A Pop Star
Disney talents have been reigning in Hollywood, but no one is doing it like Zendaya! The Emmy-winning actress has been on a successful career path with a bunch of interesting work in her portfolio, including the ‘Spiderman’ trilogy and Sam Levinson’s ‘Euphoria.’
However, the actress gave up her flourishing music career. In 2012, Zendaya signed a deal with Hollywood Records. She went on to release her first single, ‘Replay,’ which became a platinum-selling single. She released a self-titled album in 2013, which debuted at No. 51 on the Billboard 200.
When all was well, why did she leave the dream to become a pop star? During a Variety interview with Andrew Garfield, Zendaya explained her reason for quitting music. She said, “I was talking to Sam [Levinson, Euphoria creator] about this earlier. I was like, ‘I don’t know if I could ever be a pop star.’ It’s because as an actor, there’s a level of anonymity that I get to have, which I really like.”
Zendaya continued, “And I get to sort my stuff, whatever that is, through a character and nobody needs to know about it. Whereas in other forms and other mediums, it’s all you all the time. I like the idea that somebody else, meaning Rue [from Euphoria], gets to take on that stuff and I can …”
