Robert Pattinson is one of the most popular actors in Hollywood. He also has a great and lean physique which he has managed over the years. The British actor has worked hard to get in shape for films like The ‘Twilight‘ series as well as the superhero flick, ‘The Batman.’
However, the actor has often spoken out about the male body standards required in Hollywood and in real life. Pattinson called them “insidious” as he recalled one instance of shaping his body. Let’s find out in detail what exactly the actor said in the interview.

Robert Pattinson On Male Body Standards
Pattinson, just like most actors, has gone through rigorous physical tasks to get in shape for film roles. However, he is not happy with the “insidious” male body standards in the industry and in our society.
In an interview with ES Magazine, the ‘Tenet’ actor said he has “basically tried every fad you can think of, everything except consistency.” He once only ate boiled potatoes with Himalayan pink salt for two weeks, as a detox to lose weight.
The actor said that he has also tried the Keto diet where “you just eat charcuterie boards and cheese all the time“. However, he found it difficult as he could not have a beer.

Pattinson Had Said He Doesn’t Work Out
Before the release of ‘The Batman‘, Pattinson said, “I think if you’re working out all the time, you’re part of the problem. You set a precedent.” He then said that no one was doing it in the 70s, including James Dean.
He later admitted that he got in trouble for saying that as they “came back to haunt me”. Pattinson has been working with the Academy Award-winning director Bong Joon-ho in his film ‘Mickey 17.’
“The movie is so crazy, it’s a completely different style of working,” he said. The film is scheduled to hit theaters in March 2024.
