It’s been a long time since ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ came out on the big screen. Audiences have been waiting for the return of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow and his adventures. The fifth film, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’, was released in 2017 and was the lowest-grossing film in the franchise.
The fifth film’s failure was attributed to negative reviews and Johnny Depp’s image that was being portrayed in front of the public following his divorce from Amber Heard. But despite the negative response, the producers are busy developing a sixth film but while Depp has confirmed that he won’t return, audiences have been speculating about what would happen with the sixth film.

Reasons Behind Johnny Depp’s Exit From ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean 6’
While ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 6‘ was reported to be in development, there have been several rumors about Johnny Depp’s return to the franchise. There was a report in 2022 that he might reprise his role due to a deal worth $301 million being finalized with Disney.
While speaking to NBC News, Depp’s representative said at the time that the news was made up. ‘Pirates‘ producer Jerry Bruckheimer was once questioned if Depp would reprise his role and he said that it is not confirmed and the future of the franchise is yet to be determined, although he would love to have him back in the franchise.
Even though Johnny Depp emerged as the winner in the defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard in 2022, he has refused to address anything about playing Sparrow’s role once again. Now only the producers can convince him of the same.
