New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani and First Lady Rama Duwaji may be forced to miss this year’s Met Gala despite receiving an invitation. Traditionally, the city’s mayor is invited by the Metropolitan Museum of Art to attend the prestigious event, but according to Page Six, Mamdani’s appearance is now uncertain.
The gala is financially supported by Jeff Bezos, currently among the world’s richest individuals, and his wife, Lauren Sánchez-Bezos, who have been identified as lead donors and honorary co-chairs. The event raises funds for the Anna Wintour Costume Center at the Met.
