Tom Cavanagh is widely known for his role in the American television series ‘The Flash‘. The CW series was a success and went on for over 9 years with 9 seasons. During its run, it garnered a huge fan following with people wanting more of the series even after its end in May 2023.
Despite not being a part of James Gunn’s DCU, ‘The Flash’ is based on the DC comics itself. Moreover, after it ended, the supervillain of the series, Reverse-Flash’s actor Tom Cavanagh talked about his dream projects and plan for the future.
Tom Cavanagh Is Ready To Join The DC Universe
DC has made a name for itself with its dark and edgy content and perfect depiction of the comic. With all the great characters it produces there barely would be an actor who wouldn’t want to join DC?
Actor Tom Cananagh is no different. While attending a press conference at Comicon Tom, the actor was asked about his intentions on returning as Reverse-Flash in the DCU, and whether or not he was asked by Gunn to do so.
Tom pounced on the opportunity and claimed that he was more than willing to join James Gunn’s DC universe. “Yes, James Gunn! James, where are you? I’m right here pretty solidly built and still athletic. You know not the youngest but pretty good pretty fast and can move pretty well. I would love to work for you, Gunn!” he said.

James Gunn Had Previously Talked About Working With Grant Gustin, The Lead Of ‘The Flash’
Despite there being no news about Gunn working on ‘The Flash’ he had previously talked about Grant Gustin who portrayed Flash in the series. Everyone knows Grant through his portrayal of Flash in the hit series. So, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Gunn decides to bring ‘The Flash’ and its characters into the DC universe.
In a post on Threads, Gunn appreciated Grant’s talent and stated, “Grant is an incredibly talented guy, performing now on Broadway, I believe, and is absolutely not going to waste just because he’s not currently in a DC project. But of course, I’d love to work with him at some point.”
However, he did not clarify if he would bring in Grant to replace DCU’s Flash Ezra Miller.
