Gunn’s response was quick with a tinge of humor. “It’s on my hard drive. But, seriously, all three of those projects come out months before us,” he wrote. While lighthearted, Gunn’s comment carries weight.

It suggests that the trailer for the ‘Superman’ film is completed or nearly so. It also implies that the film’s marketing campaign could begin at any moment.

This also explains why more substantial updates for Superman’s marketing might have been delayed.

Adding to the complexity of the timeline, James Gunn has also been busy filming ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2. So, the busy schedule also explains why editing and promotional plans for the ‘Superman‘ movie have taken time.

However, fans should take comfort in knowing that by Gunn’s admission, the trailer is ready to go. The upcoming Superman movie will be the first big-screen iteration of the character under Gunn’s DCU vision.

It will also mark David Corenswet’s debut as the new Man of Steel. The trailer is also expected to set the tone for the reimagined franchise.
