Jake Gyllenhaal is known for his versatile roles in movies. Though he was turned down to play Batman by DC in ‘Batman Begins‘, fans have always claimed that Gyllenhaal could do justice to the caped crusader. Furthermore, during a recent interview, Jake was asked about whether he would like to portray Batman.
Gyllenhaal is very adept at action scenes and had even auditioned for Batman. While it did not happen in the past, second chances can work wonders.
Jake Gyllenhaal Wants To Be The Next Batman
Jake Gyllenhaal talked about the possibility of him portraying DC’s Batman with Screenrant. He said, “Oh, man. That’s a classic. It’s an honor. Speaking of playing roles that other incredible actors have played in the past, to me, actually, when I think about it, I’m going to play Iago in Othello with Denzel Washington.“
Jake is no stranger to portraying superheroes with his latest venture into the MCU being in ‘Spiderman: Far From Home‘. He further added, “And I think about like the history of actors that have played that role throughout time, and I’m intimidated by that. So that’s the first level. That’s what I’m working on right now. But of course. It would be an honor always. Those types of things and those roles are classics.”

Some of the best actors in Hollywood have portrayed the caped crusader in the Batman movies. Currently, Ben Affleck is DCU’s Batman. However, Jake revealed his intentions to replace him.
Despite Jake wanting to portray Batman, fans think he would be a better Joker. Joker is one of the most beloved and twisted DC villains and it’s known that portraying Joker is not easy. Gyllenhaal has experience with dark and twisted roles and people were quick to point out that he would be a good fit for the DC hero.
