‘The Flash’ Director Andy Muschietti Talks About Ezra Miller During CinemaCon 2023

CinemaCon 2023 was a successful, star-studded evening with glimpses of some of the most interesting projects lined up. The DC film ‘The Flash’ also premiered during the event in Las Vegas. In February 2023, the trailer received a good response, with fans excited about Michael Keaton donning the Batman costume. But the film has been through a turbulent journey due to the legal implications of Ezra Miller’s actions.

Ezra Miller has been a problematic celebrity for a while now. They have had run-ins with the law, which has caused a lot of trouble for them and Warner Bros., as Ezra was in the middle of shooting for one of the most ambitious DC projects. It all began in 2020, when Miller was seen choking a woman in a bar in Iceland. Then, there was a string of allegations that included grooming, disorderly conduct, harassment, felony, and abuse. Despite these heinous charges, the studio went ahead and cast him in the film. Now, the director and producer have spoken about Ezra’s situation.

The DC fans and audience had a unanimous opinion that Ezra Miller should be sacked due to his erratic behavior. Warner Bros. and Discovery were ruminating to decide Ezra’s fate and future in the franchise. Ezra last appeared as Barry Allen, aka The Flash, in 2016’s ‘Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.’ But the trailer has been hailed by the audience, and they have received positive reactions despite their past actions.

During CinemaCon on April 25, 2023, the director, Andy Muschietti, was asked about Ezra Miller. When the moderator asked Andrés about Miller’s well-being after the plethora of allegations, he said that the actor is doing well now.

Andy said, “Ezra is well now. We’re all hoping that they get better… They’re taking the steps to recovery. They’re dealing with mental health issues, but they’re well. We talked to them not too long ago, and they’re very committed to getting better.”
