Selena Gomez Gets All Excited For The Sequel Of ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ On Instagram
Disney’s official social media handle on Friday confirmed that ‘Wizards of Waverly Place‘ will return for a reboot. Set to premiere this Fall, the show has a huge fanbase even decades after the original show bid goodbye to its audiences.
Selena Gomez, the 31-year-old alum of the show, is as excited as its fans would be and she is not shying away from showing off her excitement about the return of the show.
As Disney and show star David Henrie co-posted the series order and timing of the new series on Instagram, Selena took to the comments section to express her excitement. “Making magic, then and now. The new Wizards of Waverly Place series is coming this fall!” the caption of the post by Disney read.
“We are back!! Soooo grateful,” Gomez wrote in the comment section. She also posted a throwback photo from the show of herself resting her head on Henrie’s shoulder, paired with a teaser photo from the upcoming series with the duo seated on a couch.
Gomez also reposted the announcement on her Instagram Story. “Guess what? WE GOT PICKED UP FOR SEASON 1!” she wrote.
Her co-star Henrie also shared his excitement on his Instagram Story posting a set of magic emojis “CAN’T WAIT!!! See you this Fall!” he wrote in the story.

What Can Fans Expect From The Upcoming Sequel Of ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’
According to Deadline, the reboot of ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ will see a title change to just ‘Wizards’ and have actors Selena Gomez and David Henrie reprising their roles. Henrie will return as Justin Russo in a series regular role, while Gomez will make a guest appearance.
The new series will also introduce some new faces including Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele, Max Matenko, and Mimi Gianopulos.
‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ originally aired from 2007 to 2012, and revolved around the story of a family of wizards. The upcoming reboot will follow Justin’s character as he lives a regular, non-wizard life with his family until his sister Alex shows up with a young wizard he must train.
Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas have written the new story. They will also work as the executive producers of the show, with the production set to begin in April.
While the sequel of the show is set to hit the screens in April, fans can stream ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ on Disney+.
