Even though they have such a big difference in opinion, Rosie never forced Jojo into anything. She encouraged him to be kind and look at the brighter side of things instead of spreading hate. Although Rosie met an unfortunate ending, she inspired a good thing in Jojo. Rosie always insisted that Jojo connected with the playful, kind and loving side of his persona and did not give in to the Nazi teachings. She taught him about compassion which was severely lacking in the Nazi Youth program.

But in doing so, Leigh also thought about the comfort of her own children and never forgot about them at any point. Leigh’s character truly tells us that motherhood knows no bounds.
