It seems that MrBeast, the YouTube superstar famous for his jaw-dropping giveaways and massive stunts, might be facing his biggest challenge yet. The internet icon, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is being sued by five anonymous contestants from his highly anticipated reality competition show, ‘Beast Games.’
The competition, which was commissioned by Amazon’s Prime Video, has taken a turn for the worse with serious accusations being hurled at MrBeast, Amazon, and the show’s production team.
Contestants Reveal The Dark Side Of ‘Beast Games’
Amazon had been promoting ‘Beast Games‘ as “the world’s largest live gameshow” with a whopping $5 million prize. Filed on September 16 in Los Angeles Superior Court, the suit accuses MrBeast, Amazon, and independent production company Off One’s Base LLC of multiple infractions, including unpaid wages, sexual harassment, and emotional distress.
According to the lawsuit, the reality competition was far from the thrilling experience it was marketed to be. Over 1,000 participants were lured in but what they allegedly got instead was an environment filled with mistreatment and dangerous conditions.
Contestants claim they were deprived of basic necessities such as food, sleep, and medical care, leaving some of them hospitalized. The lawsuit also alleges that contestants were not provided with proper meal or rest breaks, violating California labor laws.

One of the plaintiffs, referred to as Contestant 5, revealed her disappointment with the way things turned out. “I wanted to join because I was a fan of MrBeast and his videos made me smile during the COVID-19 pandemic. I expected to be challenged, but I didn’t think I would be treated like nothing — less than nothing,” she stated.
The lawsuit also highlights a pattern of sexual harrasment. The complaint even cites instructions from an employee handbook that encouraged reckless and offensive actions for the sake of content.
One section reads, “If talent wants to draw a dick on the whiteboard in the video or do something stupid, let them… Really do everything you can to empower the boys when filming and help them make content. Help them be idiots.” It’s hard to believe a $100 million production would allow such instructions, but here we are.
The Legal Fallout For MrBeast And Amazon
With all these allegations on the table, MrBeast and Amazon are now in some serious legal trouble. The plaintiffs are seeking class-action status on behalf of all affected contestants and demanding compensation for unpaid wages, expenses, and punitive damages.
Robert Pafundi, the lead attorney for the plaintiffs, said, “Participants entered into contracts and they were promised compensation for their services. Their expectation of compensation, along with them being consistently under the control and supervision of the production staff, makes them employees under California law.”
Essentially, the lawsuit argues that the contestants were treated more like employees than competitors, and yet were denied the legal protections that come with that status.

Pafundi also emphasized the emotional and physical toll on contestants. “As extreme as the allegations against defendants are here, the law could not be more clear,” he said. The plaintiffs’ legal team is pushing to hold MrBeast, Amazon, and their production partners accountable for what they describe as a “massive dereliction of duty.”
As of now, neither MrBeast nor Amazon have responded to the lawsuit publicly. The show is still awaiting a release date on Prime Video. Its ambitious $100 million budget and promise of the largest cash prize in TV history now seem insignificant compared to the potential fallout from these allegations.
