NBA analyst Charles Barkley addressed a viral incident involving rapper Ice Spice during the April 18th broadcast of Inside the NBA. The segment aired days after a reported altercation at a McDonald’s location involving the 26-year-old artist.
At the end of the show, Barkley referenced the situation while speaking with co-host Ernie Johnson. “I hear they got some slappy happy meals over there. You see, Ice Spice got slapped at McDonald’s? What you doing at McDonald’s in the middle of the night, Ice Spice? Come on, stop that. Get it to go.”
The exchange carried added context because the program is presented by McDonald’s. Johnson acknowledged the connection during the broadcast. Barkley continued by referencing menu items and reacting further to the incident. “Let Ice Spice eat in peace! … She should have slapped her in the face with a Big Mac. You walk up on me, everything’s on the table,” he said.
The remarks followed reports that Ice Spice was involved in a confrontation earlier in April 2026 while dining at a McDonald’s restaurant. Video circulating online shows the rapper seated in a booth when a person approached her. The interaction escalated, and the individual is seen slapping Ice Spice.
She then stood up and moved toward the person as bystanders intervened to separate them. Additional footage shows Spice throwing a phone believed to belong to the other individual during the confrontation. The situation drew widespread attention on social media.

Spice’s legal team described the incident as an “unprovoked attack” and said it had been reported to the Los Angeles Police Department. The statement added that video from inside the restaurant would be used as evidence.
The person involved in the altercation claimed Spice and her companion were rude during their interaction. The rapper later addressed the situation in a social media post, writing, “This wouldn’t happen at Wendy’s,” referencing her partnership with the fast food brand.
