Kerr’s son, Matthew Kerr, later edited multiple clips together into a single video that made it appear as though the coach was reciting the song through various press conferences across the season. The ESPN profile said the compilation eventually reached Swift through a mutual friend.
“She ended up seeing it through a mutual friend,” Kerr said. “Wait, is this real?” Swift asked after seeing the video. “Can I put it on social media?” Kerr declined the request and asked Swift’s team to keep the video private. The story resurfaced as Kerr prepares to return for the 2026-27 NBA season after considering retirement.
