Tiger Woods has returned home after spending six weeks abroad receiving treatment following his March 27 rollover car crash and DUI charge, according to multiple sources who spoke exclusively to PEOPLE. The 50-year-old golfer returned home on May 13. A source in Jupiter said Woods “took his trip seriously and is all about continuing his recovery and putting this chapter behind him.”
The source added that Woods “is in good spirits and also can’t wait to put the legal issues to rest.” Woods previously addressed the situation publicly on March 31 in a statement posted on X, announcing he would step away to focus on treatment and recovery.
“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” Woods wrote at the time. “I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.”
He continued, “This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery. I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones, and myself at this time.”

The same source said Woods has previously been encouraged to hire a driver following his legal troubles, though it remains unclear whether that will become part of his daily routine.
