Sharon Stone Remembers Her Early Days In Hollywood
Sharon Stone has been acting for more than four decades and has closely witnessed the changes Hollywood has been through. At the NY Women In Film Awards, Stone spoke about it.
According to Deadline, Stone revealed that she came to the city “with my suitcase and 50 dollars.” She said that she “lived in a fifth-floor walkup above a bakery in a studio apartment with my friend and … lots and lots of cockroaches.”
“It was very exciting and really hard,” not least because, back then, “there were four members of Women in Film. Four — that’s not a joke,” she said. “When I would go to the set there would be 300 men, and my hair and makeup and dressers were men, when I was doing sex scenes.”
Stone said she would ask the wardrobe supervisor, who was a woman sometimes, to stay on set with her for a while. “Well, things have changed, and there are women in film now, and I am really grateful,” she concluded.

Stone Feels A Majority Of Hollywood Men Are “Misogynistic”
Stone has come across several problematic men in her long career, some of them are big stars. In an interview, the 65-year-old actress revealed the behavior of her co-stars.
“I’ve worked with some of the biggest stars in the business, who will literally talk through my close-up, telling me what they think I should do. They’re so misogynistic,” she said.
However, she praised Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci and said that they are not like the rest. Stone acted with them in the 1995 film ‘Casino.’ It earned her critical acclaim and a Golden Globe Award as well as a nomination for the Academy Award For Best Actress.
