‘D Gray-Man Hallow’ follows the story of the protagonist Allen Walker who joins the organization Black Order to help society by subduing weapons known as Akuma. These Akuma inhabits people who are grieving or is in a weak state. Taking advantage of people’s misfortune they manifest in the dark.
These evil weapons are created by an ancient sorcerer known as the Millennium Earl, who also serves as the antagonist in the story. He is connected to the notorious immortal family of Noah. The fight between the Black Order and the earl is worth noting, as the latter doesn’t always display an attitude worth calling him a villain.

Who Is The Millennium Earl?
The Millennium Earl is the antagonist in the story who also serves the role of an old happy uncle in his 80s. The most noteworthy mention should be his smile. The earl always puts on a smile on his face, whether he means it or not. Wearing a hat and carrying a small creature on his back, are one of his appearance details.
We mostly perceive a villain to be malicious and evil which calls for our hate, but the anime portrayed the earl in a unique way. The Millennium Earl is shown to have a double personality. One where he is always smiling, polite, and likes to joke about, and the other represents his malicious self. The Millennium Earl is also the one who keeps creating Akumas and attacking weak humans.
He once noted, “I am the creator of the Akuma, the Earl of the Millennium! I am the one who will exorcise the filthy “gods”, and with the Akuma lead the world to its end! ♥ The Order’s priests, the exorcists… you can struggle all you want, but you won’t be able to save the world! ♥ Never! ♥ HAHAHAHA! ♥”
Except for a particular instance, he always ends his words with a heart. He can also be counted among the clowns that we used to hate as a child. Hats, umbrellas, glasses, and a big smile – these things scared us as children, and it’s perfectly drawn in the series. He is often cheerful, but that doesn’t change the fact that he carries a black heart that doesn’t hesitate to play with human life.

What Does The Millennium Earl Want?
The Millennium Earl wants to cast gods aside into outer darkness and cause another three days of darkness where the Akumas will rule over the humans. He is the reincarnation of Adam and has been alive for several thousand years. As the patriarch of the Noah family, he shares deep bonds with his kin.
The Akumas creator also known as “The Maker,” plays a big role in Noah’s Ark. He was furious when 14th betrayed the family and tried to kill the earl to take over the family. Though he kills 14th, he is not satisfied and kills his so twin brother Mana. Mana was also the adoptive father of Allen, tying the protagonist to the antagonist in the story.
