Judd Apatow Takes A Dig At Tom Cruise
Judd Apatow is known for his sharp writing and direction which is evident in his comedy flicks. However, he also uses these tools to mock even the biggest stars in Hollywood.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the director gave a monologue at the DGA Awards. He slammed Tom Cruise during the monologue on several aspects, including his height and his association with the Church of Scientology.
He said that the vfx in “[Top Gun:] Maverick were so top-notch I couldn’t even see the stack of phone books Tom Cruise sat on to reach the flight controls.” He further said: “That’s why he’s always jumping out of tall buildings because you can’t tell how short he is from a 100-story building.”

Apatow Also Slammed His Association With Scientology
Apatow also pointed out Cruise’s famous jump on Oprah Winfrey’s show in 2005, calling him a “lunatic.” He said that now Tom drives a bike “off a cliff and then BASE jumps” and people are reacting as if he is fine.
The director then talked about the infamous relationship between the ‘Mission Impossible‘ actor and Scientology. He said that all his new stunts “feel like an ad for Scientology, it really does.”
“I mean, is that in Dianetics because there’s nothing about jumping off a cliff in the Torah? The only thing he seems to be afraid of is coparenting and antidepressants,” Apatow said after which the audiences”, he said after which the audience gasped.
