Over the years, there have been many different TV and movie adaptations of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famed detective, Sherlock Holmes. All the adaptations have been hits with the viewers, and the public can’t seem to have enough of the sleuthing hero. Arthur Conan Doyle had written four novels and 56 short stories with Sherlock Holmes as the principal character and Dr. John Watson as his sidekick.
There have been many adaptations of Sherlock’s adventures. Some of the most loved ones are BBC’s ‘Sherlock’, CBS’s ‘Elementary‘, Warner Bros. Pictures’ ‘Sherlock Holmes’, Netflix’s ‘Enola Holmes‘. Who Is Eurus Holmes?

In BBC’s mini-series ‘Sherlock’, Eurus Holmes is introduced as the younger sister of Mycroft and Sherlock. She is introduced in the episode The Lying Detective and is shown to have the power to manipulate people. She is also revealed to be sharp and intelligent, just like her brothers, and lacks emotions similar to Sherlock (before he meets Watson).
Eurus is a very lonely character, so much so that she goes through extreme measures to not be lonely. Eurus is attached only to Sherlock and considers him a friend while disregarding everyone else. She even kills Sherlock’s best friend Victor so that he can spend time with her. Eurus doesn’t have the same regard for Mycroft. She only finds Mycroft and Watson important as they are Sherlock’s weak points. She even conspires with Moriarty so as to grab Sherlock’s attention.

All About Enola Holmes

In Netflix’s movie series ‘Enola Holmes‘, Enola Holmes is introduced as the younger sister of Mycroft and Sherlock. She is described as intelligent and witty, just like her brothers. She is a much happier, loving, enthusiastic sister compared to Eurus. The character of Enola Holmes is inspired by the novels of Nancy Springer. Enola Holmes is a positive character, unlike Eurus Holmes.
In the Netflix movies, Enola, just like her elder brother, wants to become a detective who solves cases. She is homeschooled by her mother, and her mother ensures the all-around development of Enola.
Eudoria teaches her martial arts, chemistry, and cryptography so that she can be an independent lady and not just a married woman caring for kids. She teaches her to fight for women’s rights in the Victorian era. Hence, it is safe to say that Eurus Holmes and Enola Holmes are not the same people. They are polar opposites in many ways. The only character trait they share is that of being more intelligent than Sherlock.
