    The Simpsons‘ are known for predicting the future, and some of their predictions come true. It is an animated sitcom that has around 34 seasons available to watch. Since 1989, Homer Simpson and his dysfunctional family have faced their own set of challenges and comedic issues.

    The characters in the series are all likable and memorable. Sometimes spectators assume that the writers are time travelers because predicting the future not once, but multiple times, feels unreal. Let’s get into the specifics of ‘The Simpsons‘ predictions.

    1. Walt Disney & Fox

    This real-life thing happened in Season 10, Episode 5 of ‘The Simpsons’. Disney has grown to be one of the world’s most powerful entertainment conglomerates. In 1998, in The Simpsons Disney seemed to buy out its competitors.

    When Homer goes to pitch a movie idea to Fox executives, he notices that it is ‘a division of Walt Disney Co.’ beneath the logo. People thought it was a joke at the time. And, little did anyone know, Disney would buy the conglomerate in 2017.

    2. The Pandemic

    People realized after the pandemic that they had seen something similar to this before. It’s also in ‘The Simpsons‘. Homer starts an epidemic in Season 4, Episode 21. The epidemic is similar to COVID-19.

    There was no cure for the spread, and patients were advised to stay in bed, just as scientists did recently. The flu epidemic in the episode originated in another country and then spread throughout the United States.

    3. Trump’s Presidency

    In Season 11, Episode 17 titled ‘Bart to the Future,’ which first aired in 2000, we saw what the Simpsons’ future looked like. And Bart is a failed musician, and Lisa is the president of the White House. The episode’s premise was that the vision was an alarm to Bart that he needed to alter his approaches in order to avoid wasting his life.

    However, during a meeting, Lisa acknowledges that President Trump has left the country in a financial mess. But then, in November 2016, Donald Trump was elected president. And the predictions came true.

    4. Facetime

    In Season 6, Episode 19 Lisa meets a mysterious fortune teller who predicts that she will fall in love at a prestigious university with upper-crust English gent Hugh Parkfield. Lisa, who is overjoyed, shares the news with her mother via Facetime.

    In 2003, Skype was created, and in 2010, Apple developed FaceTime. People can not only talk but also see each other’s faces.

    5. Barack Obama And Electronic Voting Machine

    On Election Day in Season 20, Episode 4, a rogue electronic voting machine converts Homer’s vote to one for the other guy. Homer votes for Barack Obama, but the voting machine records his vote for John McCain.

    And then in 2012 this thing actually came true. Because of the faulty machine, the votes were directed to Obama’s opponent, Mitt Romney.

    6. Lady Gaga’s Dance Move

    Lady Gaga appeared as a special guest star in Season 23, Episode 22, and performed for the town while flying low in midair, at one point even playing the piano.

    But this came entirely true in real life. The legendary Lady Gaga performed at the Superbowl LI Halftime Show in 2017. She was later lifted above the audience. Not only that, but Lady Gaga also played the piano in the same show.

    7. Olympic

    Homer and Marge discover a sport called curling while searching for a romantic date together,” according to the official synopsis for Season 21, Episode 12. Meanwhile, Lisa becomes addicted to collecting Olympic pins.

    And, in the end, Homer and Marge win the gold medal, with Sweden taking the silver. The United States men’s curling team won gold in the 2018 Winter Olympics after an unexpected fightback, with Sweden taking silver.

    8. Horsemeat Scandal

    Doris, a lunch lady, is dealing with a tight budget in Season 5, Episode 19, and resorts to substituting assorted horse parts for the meat sheep.

    Then, in 2013, a scandal erupted across Europe and other parts of the world when it was revealed that horse meat was being included in products that were stated to contain beef. They were even available in supermarkets and given to hospital patients and children.

    9. Smartwatch

    The Simpsons went to a Renaissance fair in Season 6, Episode 19. Lisa soon found herself in the fortune teller’s shelter, and this episode was set in the future. One of the characters in the episode was used to seeing a watch that switched open and that he could talk into and it even responded to him.

    The same as a smartwatch nowadays. It is now challenging for many shows to show such amazing technology that will be available in the coming years. This episode aired in 1995, 20 years before it was popular.

    10. Autocorrect

    We saw something called Autocorrect in Season 6, Episode 8. The bullies in the episode trying to make a memo of ‘beat up Martin.’ And instead of that it switches out to be ‘eat up Martha.’

    It was soon explained that Apple used this Simpsons episode as an encouragement to get the iPhone keyboard just right.
