Bullseye has been a force of pure chaos for the majority of his time in the MCU. Benjamin Poindexter has been a character of extreme instability and can transform nearly anything into a deadly weapon since his first appearance in ‘Daredevil’ season 3.
It never felt like redemption would be possible for him. However, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ season 2 took him in a completely different direction.
Bullseye Might Become One Of The New Avengers

After spending years manipulated by Wilson and Vanessa Fisk, Poindexter entered season 2 obsessed with balancing the scales for the lives he ruined. At first, his notion of redemption was to kill the Fisks. However, Daredevil saving his life in the finale definitely altered him.

That change can be very significant in the last few games of the year. Bullseye saves the governor from the hands of Fisk’s men and is discovered to be aiding Mr. Charles, and therefore, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
On the surface, it’s a minor reveal, but it could be the most intriguing change in the MCU yet. Bullseye doesn’t seem to be a rogue killer anymore, but rather a government-controlled black ops operative, sort of a dark Avenger for the MCU.
MCU May Finally Be Adapting Bullseye’s Wildest Comic Storyline

Comic fans saw the parallels between Bullseye’s newfound status quo and one of his weirdest story arcs in Marvel history right away. During the Dark Avengers era, Bullseye actually operated as Norman Osborn’s twisted version of Hawkeye, complete with the purple costume and public hero image hiding his violent nature underneath.

The MCU likely won’t do the exact same thing. However, the similarities are undeniable. Valentina has been diligently building darker versions of classic Avengers for years. John Walker is a corrupted Captain America, Yelena Belova is a Black Widow, and even Sentry is a Hulk and Thor combination.
However, Bullseye could finally fill the Hawkeye-shaped hole. This is particularly interesting because Poindexter is still very emotional. He’s no hero in the traditional sense. He’s still volatile, deeply damaged, and morally broken. But that instability can be the very reason why Val wants him.
Daredevil’s act of mercy toward Bullseye could have potentially made something even more perilous for the MCU going forward. Poindexter has purpose, and it’s not one that’s dying at the hands of Fisk, but rather one that’s under Val’s control, and that could be a big problem for everyone else.
