Marvel fans were immediately distracted by how comic-accurate Bullseye’s new ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ season 3 costume looks. The updated helmet, armor, and logo finally give Wilson Bethel’s assassin the comic book intimidation that was needed from the get-go.

However, there’s one small element of the suit that could be the most crucial aspect of the redesign.

From recent set photos, it seems that Bullseye’s helmet has a camera built into the target symbol. When viewed superficially, it appears to be a typical tactical gear. However, seasoned MCU fans soon spotted something interesting: the arrangement is strikingly similar to the recording technology once used in Taskmaster’s original Black Widow suit.

And, really, it’s a relationship too close to call. At the conclusion of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ season 2, Benjamin Poindexter wasn’t working solo. Bullseye had been in a lot of turmoil. Then, he found himself working for Mr. Charles and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who are both better suited to manipulation than to trust.

Now, the helmet camera sounds much more interesting. Val and her allies are probably able to track Bullseye’s missions and keep him in check, so he will not disobey them when he is sent on dangerous missions. That is, the suit is not only armor, but it’s surveillance.

This aligns with Valentina’s whole vibe within the MCU. Almost all of her operative connections have been treated more like a disposable government asset than a hero. But there could be something greater going on.

Taskmaster’s helmet technology wasn’t only designed for recording footage. It also assisted in the analysis of combat movements and combat patterns. If Bullseye’s suit has similar systems, then Marvel might be laying the groundwork for Dex to become even more of a threat than he already is.

The MCU has been continually changing its roster of anti-heroes and assassins, and Bullseye is now in a position for a much bigger role going forward. The character already has deadly accuracy, superhuman strength, and endurance from experimental surgery and an extremely unstable mental state.

If you add in the advanced combat-analysis tech, he could be the next version of Taskmaster for Marvel, or the spiritual successor. This doesn’t necessarily mean that Bullseye will duplicate powers exactly like Antonia Dreykov did.

It may enable him to adapt more quickly in battle, foresee attacks, and, over time, become a more strategic killer. The interesting part of this theory is the fact that Marvel is being subtle about it. No big announcement or set-up scene.

It’s a simple feature in a redesigned helmet. However, sometimes the biggest plans for the MCU’s future begin with something that most viewers don’t notice at first glance.
