Marvel fans are used to spotting tiny details that slip through the cracks, but one ‘Avengers: Endgame’ moment has long been a popular example of a continuity error. It’s a strange scene, but maybe ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ offered a clever answer, turning it into a potential MCU mystery.

In the climactic Battle of Earth in ‘Avengers: Endgame’, Black Panther is seen with the Nano Gauntlet, and Giant-Man is fighting in the background. On the surface, nothing is particularly unusual. However, a closer look at Scott Lang’s situation reveals a problem.

At this moment in the fight, Ant-Man is in the van containing the time-travel device, frantically attempting to get the Quantum Tunnel to function again. The vehicle is crucial to the Avengers’ plan to send the Infinity Stones back to their respective timelines, leaving Scott with little reason to be roaming around as Giant-Man at the same time.

But of course, this isn’t the sort of thing that spoils ‘Endgame’s emotional conclusion. Considering how closely fans examine every frame of Marvel films, it was only a matter of time before someone noticed.

‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ introduces an intriguing possibility through its exploration of the MCU timeline and the Time Variance Authority (TVA). The film features the Void, a wasteland where pruned individuals and objects end up after being removed from their timelines.

One of its most striking sights is the enormous skeleton of Giant-Man, which serves as a grim reminder of just how dangerous the Void can be. The image also presents a fun theory: what if the Giant-Man that appeared in ‘Endgame’ was an unauthorized version of Scott Lang?

If this is the case, the TVA could have cut off that version of Giant-Man and eventually abandoned his body in the Void. It would give a reason for a continuity glitch that Marvel never addressed. That’s the appeal of the MCU. At times, a throwaway visual can inspire a theory that makes an old mistake feel like a multiversal conspiracy.
