In ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, Doctor Doom’s secret agenda might be more complex than just defeating Earth’s heroes. The Russos have announced that Doom has been gathering additional heroes besides Bruce Banner, which means that any strong or weak character is a potential target. This is where Sentry comes in.
Bob Reynolds Is Just The Kind Of Hero Doom Can Make Use Of

Bob Reynolds, aka Sentry, is probably one of the most lethal characters in the MCU since his greatest strength is also his greatest weakness: The Void. Bob may be a very useful pawn on the board if Doom is seeking to play with heroes he can bend to his will. In ‘Thunderbolts’, Bob is terrified of what happens when the Void takes control.

He’s not just trying to learn an amazing power; he’s scared of what it can turn him into. That weakness might make him an easy target for Doom. The comics make it even more interesting. The relationship between Robert Reynolds and the Void has always been a part of Sentry’s mythology.
The Void is a dark entity within Bob’s mind, and he has been repeatedly battling to keep it at bay, as described in Marvel’s history of the character. Doom wouldn’t necessarily need to overpower Sentry. He may just have to get Bob to understand that he needs to use his full strength to survive.
The Avengers May Need Sentry And Fear Him At The Same Time

This is a great problem for ‘Doomsday’. With Doom getting stronger, the Avengers and New Avengers might just be forced to unleash Sentry. But that could potentially bring the Void back with him. That’s not a typical superhero; it’s more like a bomb ticking.

We’ve seen the horror that can unfold in the comics. The Void’s power during Siege caused Sentry to become a force of destruction, eventually prompting Bob to ask the Avengers’ to kill him. The MCU doesn’t have to do that story exactly. It could be the person who knows Bob’s fear better than anyone else, someone like Doom.
And that could be the real reason Doom wants to “collect” him. He may not want Sentry as another soldier. He may want the Void.
