The journey of Vision after ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ is one of the weirdest in the MCU. He technically died years ago, but the character’s story never truly ended. Now, ‘VisionQuest‘ will delve into what happens when a version of Vision regains his old memories, but not the emotions that made him human.
And before watching the series, there is one complicated history worth remembering.
From Vision To White Vision

In ‘Infinity War’, Thanos tore the Mind Stone off of Vision’s head, killing him on the spot. Later, his body was recovered by S.W.O.R.D., who disassembled and reassembled him into White Vision, a weapon used to kill Wanda Maximoff. Meanwhile, Wanda made her own magical version of Vision in Westview.

This version was not White Vision, but had emotions, personality, and memories of their time together. However, it was essentially a magical construct. The two Visions eventually came into conflict, but the battle was an unexpected one.
Instead of killing one another, they discussed what it would mean to really be Vision. White Vision’s memories were then unlocked by Wanda’s Vision. He suddenly remembered his past and refused to accept S.W.O.R.D.’s programming, and flew away. And then nothing. He disappeared.
Vision Has His Memories, But Not His Heart

This is where ‘VisionQuest’ gets interesting. Now, Vision has his original memories, including his relationship with Wanda, but the emotional bond that once existed with the memories has been removed. He recalls loving Wanda, but not being able to feel love for her.

That is a brutal identity crisis for someone whose humanity was always tied to his emotions. The series will reportedly go even further as Vision goes into his own mindscape and faces manifestations of Ultron and J.A.R.V.I.S. as he looks for something he says he has lost: his soul.
His journey also brings him together with a mysterious teenager who turns out to be Tommy, Wanda and Vision’s reincarnated son. This isn’t just a superhero adventure for Vision. It’s a deeply personal question: if you remember everything that made you who you were, but can no longer feel it, are you still the same person? And that could make ‘VisionQuest’ one of Marvel’s most emotional stories ever.
