Tom Hiddleston’s Loki may not be one of the main characters in ‘Avengers: Doomsday‘, but a new report indicates the God of Stories could still have a significant role in the major event.
Loki Might Hold The Key To ‘Doomsday’s Multiverse Story
Hiddleston will reportedly show up in just two or three scenes, but those appearances could link together several key moments in the MCU’s increasingly complex multiverse narrative.

Instead of bringing Loki back as a full-time member of the Avengers, Marvel could be using him as a bridge between different realities. It would make sense, given how the character was left in the aftermath of ‘Loki’ Season 2, as he gave up his freedom to keep the timelines together.
One of the intriguing ideas is Steve Rogers. It is said that Loki’s story has a tie-in with Steve. The idea that Loki could have visited Steve after his retirement, and potentially played a role in moving Steve and his family into another universe, would give Hiddleston’s appearance a surprisingly personal connection to the former Captain America.
Loki’s Fate Could Be Tied To The Fantastic Four
Another reported shot would be the Negative Zone, which would connect Loki to the Fantastic Four’s part of the MCU. If true, it’s much more significant than a cameo. The Negative Zone has always been a part of Marvel’s cosmic universe and will be particularly important as ‘Doomsday’ brings together characters and worlds that would never meet.

Linking Loki to that story would also allow Marvel to explore the ramifications of his actions at the show’s conclusion. However, there’s also the chance that Loki’s story goes much darker. The character’s death has been previously reported as being off-screen, but this has not been confirmed.
If Marvel actually follows through with such a move, it could make any later appearance even more emotional. Loki might come back in the final act, having made his way through Valhalla, or Marvel could save his return for a post-credit scene.
Either way, Hiddleston’s limited screen time could be deceptive. A character doesn’t have to have dozens of scenes to alter the direction of a story. After everything Loki has sacrificed, even a brief appearance in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ could carry enormous weight.
