Marvel Studios is bringing back James Spader to reprise his iconic role as the supervillain Ultron in their upcoming Disney+ show, ‘Vision Quest.’ Spader first took on the role of Ultron in 2015’s ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron‘ and fans loved his intimidating voice.
Not much is currently known about the plot of the White Vision show, currently referred to as ‘Vision Quest‘, but it is said to pick up the story of Paul Bettany’s character after the events of ‘WandaVision‘. In that Disney+ series, Vision was resurrected by S.W.O.R.D. With Ultron now confirmed to be making his return, it raises many questions about how the villain could possibly factor into White Vision’s next chapter.
James Spader’s Ultron Is Supposedly Still Alive
At the end of the ‘Age of Ultron‘, Vision was able to seemingly destroy the final robotic body containing Ultron’s AI. However, this new series will bring Ultron that might have survived in some form whether through backups or transferring his code elsewhere before his final confrontation.
His inclusion in the ‘Vision Quest‘ instantly adds a great antagonist for Vision to deal with. It remains mysterious exactly what form Ultron will take in the series and how his presence will impact the storyline.

James Spader’s performance capture work as Ultron has always been a standout part of a super underrated Avengers movie. His vocal talents will no doubt once again bring the menacing yet intelligent Ultron to life.
Under Matalas and with fan favorites Paul Bettany and James Spader returning, the ‘Vision Quest‘ series looks to become another must-watch installment in the ever-expanding Marvel TV universe.
