Marvel has a devoted following that spans generations, with young adults and teens being particularly enthralled with the concept. They have everything from superwomen in suits to bug-hunk heroes with astounding powers. When we think of the Asgardian superhero who is also the God of Thunder, Thor, the only name that comes to mind is actor Chris Hemsworth. It appears like the part was created primarily for him when he portrays it on screen, but there were others who wanted the role. One of them is Alan Ritchson.
The astonishingly talented 41-year-old actor Ritchson tried out for a number of action heroes and superhero movies. He was most recently seen in ‘Reacher‘. However, after he auditioned for ‘Thor‘ he lost the role despite being confident about his looks. He recently talked about it.
Why Alan Ritchson Lost The Role Of Thor
Alan Ritchson revealed in a recent interview with Men’s Health that he didn’t take the role audition seriously, which cost him the opportunity to play Thor in the MCU.
He stated, “I was like,’ they’ll throw me the part if look like the guy; nobody really cares about acting.”
He believed that his appearance alone would determine the role rather than his acting prowess, but this turned out to be untrue when Chris Hemsworth was cast instead of him.
