Playing scientist Jane Foster in 2011’s ‘Thor‘, Natalie Portman joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe and was quick to become one of the fan favorite love interests in the MCU.

After Thor: The Dark World, the actress, who portrayed Thor’s love interest in three of the four Thor movies, left the franchise and wasn’t seen in Thor: Ragnarok. She was then seen in Thor: Love And Thunder with a surprise, which has led to fans speculating if she would be a part of the future Thor movies.

Addressing these speculations, Portman said, “Oh, I have no idea,” before adding, “I mean, no one’s asked me to. So I don’t know. But sure, that was super-fun.” She continued, “Yeah, it was so fun. I had such a great time making it. I loved working with Taika, and Chris [Hemsworth] is just the greatest, and so is Tessa [Thompson].”

She added, “I was just laughing all day, every day. There’s only my highest love for that experience – and not to mention Australia, which is just the most glorious country.”

The actress asserted that there were no bad feelings and that her exit from the MCU was friendly. However, sources claimed that her exit had a lot to do with creative differences.

Wonder Woman’s Patty Jenkins was intended to direct ‘Thor: The Dark World‘ before Alan Taylor joined the film, and it was rumored that Portman was upset about this change in plans. Jenkins’ involvement was reportedly a factor in her decision, since she was unhappy with the way her character’s story developed. Director Taika Waititi however was successful in bringing her back for ‘Thor: Love and Thunder‘.

Talking about how he changed her character he had said, “You don’t want Natalie coming back and playing that same character who’s walking around with science equipment. He then added, “You know, while Thor’s flying around, she’s left on Earth, tapping her foot going, ‘When’s he going to be back?’ That’s boring. You want her to be part of the adventure.”
