When ‘Eternals’ arrived in 2021, it was meant to introduce an entirely new corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Instead, the film was one of Marvel Studios’ most polarizing movies.
Fans were left wondering if its characters would ever make an appearance again. However, now, according to a new report, it may not be the case.
New Leak Hints Marvel Still Has Big Plans For The ‘Eternals’
According to thecosmiccircus, ‘Eternals’ may feature as one of the mainstays of the MCU’s cosmic narrative for the next five to 10 years. Although there has been no official word from Marvel, the report has brought the forgotten heroes of the franchise back into focus.

Early on, Chloé Zhao assembled an impressive cast of stars for Eternals. It included Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Barry Keoghan, and Kit Harington. The film, despite its star power and grandiose scope, garnered mixed reviews from critics and viewers.
It sparked debate amongst fans over its lack of pace and philosophical nature. It grossed more than $400 million globally. However, it wasn’t the same kind of success at the box office as many expected for a Marvel film.
Several key storylines weren’t resolved. Arishem took Sersi, Kingo, and Phastos for judgment. Thena, Druig, and Makkari flew into space with Eros in pursuit of a bigger adventure. Meanwhile, Dane Whitman prepared to embrace the Ebony Blade, hinting at his transformation into the Black Knight.
However, for years, there was little activity on the official scene. While other MCU projects might barely mention these characters, in general, Marvel was silent on their fate, and that meant that the franchise had moved on.
Could the Cosmic Saga Finally Bring Back The ‘Eternals’?
Now, if the latest rumor is true, then the whole reason they were being quiet might have been a part of a longer game. The cosmic aspect of the MCU will be a major addition in the near future, featuring stories of the mighty cosmic entities, cosmic threats, and cosmic adventures.

The Eternals, of course, belong in that corner of the universe. It will be a challenge to put back together such a big ensemble. For a future production to be successful, it would be necessary to carefully plan to bring everyone together again, as the cast might have moved on.
Despite all of this, though, Marvel has proved itself in the past to be willing to bring back characters years after they’ve first appeared when a good story is ready. The report is not confirmed at this time.
However, if the ‘Eternals’ are indeed set to play a major role in Marvel’s future, it could finally provide answers to one of the MCU’s biggest unresolved cliffhangers and give the overlooked team the second chance many believe it deserves.
