Doctor Doom taking Franklin Richards could be one of the biggest clues to what the villain is actually trying to accomplish in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’. If the theory is correct, Doom may not be collecting cosmic objects in the same way Thanos collected the Infinity Stones.
Instead, he could be gathering people whose abilities represent the fundamental forces needed to rebuild reality. That would make Franklin far more important than simply being another powerful character Doom wants under his control.
Franklin Richards Could Be Doom’s Key To Reality
In Marvel Comics, Franklin Richards is one of the most powerful reality-manipulating beings in existence. He has created entire universes, altered reality, and possesses abilities that make him uniquely suited to dealing with a multiverse in collapse. That becomes especially interesting after the events leading into ‘Secret Wars’.

If the incursions have destroyed or destabilized multiple universes, Doom’s ultimate goal may not simply be domination. He could believe that reality itself needs to be reconstructed, and that Franklin’s powers are essential to doing it. The theory also connects Doom’s possible targets to different cosmic forces.
Franklin represents Reality. America Chavez could represent Space, given her ability to travel between universes. Sentry’s connection to the Void could make him important to the Mind or psychological dimension of reality.
Loki has become deeply connected to Time, while Wanda’s chaos magic gives her a potentially unique relationship with magic and reality alteration. Suddenly, Doom’s collection starts looking less like an Infinity Gauntlet and more like a living cosmic arsenal.
Doom Might Be Building His Own Reality
The Galactus connection could make this theory even bigger. If the Fantastic Four defeats Galactus before ‘Secret Wars’, Doom could attempt to claim or harness the Power Cosmic. Galactus represents an enormous source of cosmic energy, and that power could theoretically become another ingredient in Doom’s attempt to reshape existence.

And this is where Franklin becomes particularly valuable. Energy alone cannot create the reality Doom wants. Someone has to shape it. Franklin could be that person, or, more accurately, the living tool Doom needs to make his vision possible.
That would also fit the basic idea behind ‘Secret Wars‘: when the multiverse collapses, someone has to decide what comes next. Doom may simply decide that person should be him.
The most interesting part of the theory is that Doom wouldn’t be trying to recreate Thanos’ plan. He would be attempting something arguably more ambitious: using the most powerful beings in existence as the building blocks for a reality that belongs entirely to Doctor Doom.
