It’s simple to imagine that when people think of Doctor Doom, they’re envisioning the ultimate armored genius, a villain whose steel suit is essentially a darker, more intimidating version of Iron Man’s technology. However, Doom has never been a scientist hiding behind cutting-edge technology.
Doctor Doom Proved He Would Sacrifice Anyone To Become More Powerful

In reality, Doom’s armor is bound to something far darker: magic, sacrifice, and the fearsome determination of Victor von Doom to destroy anyone who gets in his way toward total power. The darkest of Doom’s stories involves his quest for more mystical power.

The classic comics plot is that Victor made a deal with the demonic Hazareth Three to gain supernatural powers to best the greatest intellectual threat of his life, Reed Richards. However, it came at an awful price.
Doom gave up the soul of his childhood sweetheart and true love, Valeria. Victor sacrificed love for power, rather than letting it get in the way of his goals. The problem with the story isn’t just the sacrifice itself. It’s that Doom knew exactly what he was doing.
He wasn’t manipulated or acting out of desperation. He took a risk because becoming more powerful mattered more to him than preserving the life of the woman he loved. That’s pretty much all you need to know about Victor von Doom.
The Armor Represents Doom’s Obsession

Things get even scarier when Valeria’s destiny intertwines with Doom’s mysterious armor. Her flesh was used to make the enchanted armor that Doom wore as his iconic metal shell. That’s a significant piece of information as it alters the perspective of the armor.

The steel mask and plates are more than just a symbol of Doom’s scientific genius. They can also be a symbol of the lengths he will go to in order to reach his objectives. Each of his pieces of armor embodies the same idea: If Victor von Doom thinks that the prize is worth the sacrifice, he’ll do anything to make it happen.
That’s why the Avengers have to be so scared of Doom. He has technology, magic, and intelligence. But that doesn’t make him dangerous. He’s dangerous because he possesses all three, and has virtually no moral line he refuses to cross.
Reed Richards may be able to outthink Doom. The Avengers may be able to overpower him. But defeating someone willing to sacrifice the person he loves most simply to win is an entirely different problem. Doom doesn’t just want victory. He wants to be proven right at any cost.
