‘VisionQuest’ could be doing much more than exploring Vision’s identity after the events of ‘WandaVision’. A fascinating theory suggests that the upcoming series may secretly connect Vision’s story to one of the darkest possibilities in Marvel Comics: a reality where Ultron won.
‘VisionQuest’ Could Secretly Set Up Ultron’s ‘Secret Wars’ Reality
The theory comes from the strange visual patterns surrounding Vision in the trailer. Whenever Vision is exploring the mansion or interacting with Jarvis, Edith, Dummy and You, he appears in a plaid design. However, his appearance changes whenever he is shown alongside Ultron, where he wears a coded pinstripe three-piece suit.

It could represent Ultron attempting to reconstruct his identity through Vision’s consciousness, or perhaps Vision’s own awakening is deliberately mirroring Ultron’s evolution in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’.
And if Ultron has somehow remained conscious inside Vision, there could be even more hidden inside his mind. One of the biggest questions is whether Vision’s consciousness could contain traces of Wanda.
If Ultron can survive as a digital consciousness within Vision, perhaps Wanda’s presence could also remain in some form. That possibility becomes particularly intriguing when looking at Vision’s tie clip. Its shape appears similar to the opening where the Mind Stone once sat in White Vision’s forehead.
A similar symbol can also reportedly be seen above the mansion entrance and in Ultron’s window. Then there is the mysterious trailer error code: “VSNWN.DA143.” Some fans believe the code could contain a hidden Vision/Wanda reference. On its own, that’s hardly proof, but combined with the recurring imagery, it certainly makes you wonder what Marvel is hiding.
Is ‘VisionQuest’ Setting Up Perfection?
The theory gets even bigger when connected to ‘Secret Wars’. In Marvel Comics, Perfection is a Battleworld domain where Ultron successfully destroys humanity and creates a technological society under his control.

What if ‘VisionQuest’ is quietly introducing an MCU version of that concept? Rather than simply being another story about Vision finding himself, the series could reveal fragments of a reality where Ultron’s plan actually succeeded.
That would give Ultron’s return far greater significance heading into the multiverse’s final battles. And honestly, the idea of Vision discovering that somewhere in the multiverse, Ultron won, could be exactly the kind of unsettling revelation that makes his story matter on a much larger scale.
