The Lord of Mischief is back with even more chaotic multiverse concepts. Loki’s time-traveling journey seems never ending introducing him to the different truths of He Who Remains. Marvel’s ‘Loki’ season one became instantly successful introducing the audience to Marvel’s most dreaded villain-Kang the Conqueror. And now Season two is just a few months away, confusing the fans with the new concept called The Time Slippling.
Season 2 finds Loki dealing with what seems like a glitch called Time-Slipping. This is not the first time, Time Slipping has been introduced in Marvel Cinematic Universe, it was earlier seen in the Spider-Verse franchise. Both the Marvel project deal with the concepts of a disorganized multiverse and variants traveling to times and spaces not their own. However, it is unclear, if there is a technical difference between time-slipping and glitching, or if the only difference between the two conditions is terminology.

What Does The Concept Of Time Slipping Even Mean?
The audience witnessed Loki slipping through time as he was pulled randomly between the past and present and between multiple points in time and space. There might be two-fold possibilities for the occurrence of the time slip. It can be a side effect of Loki’s encounter with He Who Remains in the ‘Loki’ season 1 finale or the chaos unleashed when the Sacred Timeline was broken. Another possibility of this occurrence can be that time slip is basically a time-based attack that is inflicted on Loki by one of the many Kang variants.
Loki’s physical symptoms are almost similar to the glitching that happens in the Spider-Verse films. Glitching in the Marvel Universe generally occurs when beings enter a universe that is not their own and begin to experience intense physical pain as their bodies shift wildly, rebelling against the differing reality around them. The Spider Society was able to avoid this glitching with the use of advanced technology, which is unknown to the Time Variance Authority only if glitching and time-slipping are the same thing.

Loki’s Time-Slipping Will Bridge The Gap Between Spider-Verse And MCU
Although the physical symptoms of time-slipping and glitching are similar, there is no guarantee that they are the same thing. Numerous multiverse travelers have entered the MCU during the events of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and none of them showed the physical symptoms of glitching or time-slipping. It might be because of Doctor Strange’s magic negating the effects of time-slipping or glitching or Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man’ and ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ universes are similar enough to the MCU to not cause immediate glitching, unlike the events of ‘Loki’.
With time-slipping being the central plot of ‘Loki’ season 2, it could portend that glitching is a prominent part of the MCU and may allow an easier transition for characters like Miles Morales to enter the MCU one day on a more permanent basis. Currently, there’s not much to uncover about what time-slipping is and how it could incorporate into the multiverse and the TVA. However, it is such a unique dilemma given to the audiences to chew on regarding the future of MCU, as the integration of the Spider-Verse could just be the beginning. Time-slipping and glitching could eventually represent body sliding, which was a tool used by Cable to travel through timelines and encounter the modern-day Marvel Universe.
