Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender met on the sets of ‘The Light Between The Ocean’ and they have been together for 10 years. They welcomed their first child in 2021. But since their first film the couple didn’t appear in any movie together until now.
Alicia and Michael announced that they were doing a project together in 2023. Recently, the couple shared why it took them 10 years to come back on screen together.

Alicia Vikander And Michael Fassbender On First On-Screen Collaboration In 10 Years
During an interview with Variety, Alicia Vikander revealed that she and her husband Michael Fassbender were not pitched together for any movie for 10 years until ‘Hope’ came along. She said, “Maybe because one person dared to ask, now other people come.”
‘Hope’ is described as a “largely Korean-language film” and will follow the residents of Hopo Port. The story will follow the residents of Hopo Port, where a mysterious discovery takes place at the outskirts of the remort harbor town and “before long, the residents find themselves in a desperate fight for survival against something they have never encountered before.”
As reported, both Alicia and Michael will speak English in the movie which is directed by Na Hong-Jin.

Alicia On Her Role In ‘Firebrand’
Alicia portrays the role of a queen called Catherine Par in ‘Firebrand’ who also happens to be the sixth spouse of King Henry VIII in the storyline. Talking about her role, Alicia wants her role to receive more light, as Par is usually neglected.
“I must confess, I almost felt a bit embarrassed when I was sent the script because I think if I knew anything, it was probably more about the wives that didn’t make it,” the actress said during a ‘Just for Variety‘ podcast.
She continued, “I was, in one way, sad. But then I realized speaking to other people, it seemed like that was the general feel for most, that we have the least knowledge about this woman who actually did survive X amount of years living with this man, and even outlived him.”
Alicia wants her character to be more visible. Her character suffered both physical and mental abuse by King Henry. He even ordered his minions to find out about her betrayal, so that he could find excuses to execute and get rid of her.
