Barbie Movie Musical
One of the most anticipated films of 2023, the film managed to keep up with audience’s expectations. Introducing the global pink fever, the film literally painted everything pink. Months prior to it’s release, the Oppenheimer vs Barbie debate was one of the biggest trends of the year. Apart from that musical scores by Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj charted everywhere. 2023 was truly Barbie’s year.
The film gave Greta some of the biggest achievements of her life, such as being the first female director in history to achieve a $1 billion record. Apart from her, Margot and Ryan too had one of the biggest successes of their career with the film- all of which only adds up to the speculation that a sequel might just work.
Owing to the film’s massive success, there have been talks about a musical version of the film coming out, featuring Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken again. Though the idea seems enticing, not much has been done about the musical and there have been no confirmation from the filmmakers if the film is in works.
Even if there’s no formal confirmation, the cast and director of the film made a comment about the possibility of there being a musical for the film. Read on to know more.

Is A Barbie Musical Movie In The Works
We sure would like to think so.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Margot Robbie, America Ferrera and Greta Gerwig talked about if there’s a musical version of the film in store.
Margot Robbie started off by saying, “Trust me, this isn’t the first … this is not the first time we’ve thought of it, yeah. It’s so fun when you can turn everything into a big, crazy musical number. Everything is infinitely more fun.”
Gerwig then agreed saying “A lot”. She continued and said, “I’m deeply [in] love [with] musicals. Also, America’s performed in musicals! I really love musicals. I mean, nothing would make me happier. So, I would love a musical.”
As for America Ferrera, she thinks that her character “has a number in her.”
Even though it is not an official confirmation, it opens up the possibility of there ever being a musical. After all, there’s never too much of pink. And another version of Ryan Gosling singing a rendition of “I’m Just Ken”? Yes, Please.
