DC is making a live-action movie on the “Blue Beetle”. They were keeping the whole thing hush-hush, but it looks like they are finally revealing some crucial things to the public. Xolo Maridueña has been signed on for the role of Jaime Reyes, the lead character. The supporting cast has not been revealed yet.
The creators of the movie are Keith Giffen, John Rogers, and Cully Hammer. Fans are very excited to know about the rest of the cast. As of now, the main question is whether the character of Ted Kord will appear in the movie or not and who will essay the role.
Who is Ted Kord And Who Might Play The Character in ‘Blue Beetle’?
Ted Kord is Jaime’s predecessor in the movie. He is Jaime’s mentor as well. There was a huge question about whether Ted will be appearing in the “Blue Beetle” movie or not and who will play him. Looks like the Facebook page for Bill Marinella Casting has the answers to it. They are responsible for casting people for small roles. They recently made a post which stated that they were looking for an actor who should be between the ages 20-55 and will play “Ted’s Body Double”. They used a picture of actor Jason Sudeikis as a reference.
This confirmed to fans that Ted will be very much involved in the “Blue Beetle”. It also gave an idea about who might be the face of the character. If Jason decides to take up the role, it’ll be a huge joy for his fans.
Others stars included in the cast are Susan Sarandon as Victoria Kord and Bruna Marquezine as Penny. It even includes Belissa Escobedo, George Lopez, Adriana Barraza, Elpidia Carillo, and Damián Alcázar as members of Jaime’s family.

“Blue Beetle” tells the story of Jaime Reyes. He is the third in the line of succession to become the Blue Beetle after the death of Ted Kord. The Egyptian scarab who actually gave powers to Jaime is actually an alien. He even gave Jaime a suit. Jaime is eventually supposed to join Justice League, Justice League International, Teen Titans, Young Justice, and Secret Six.
Xolo Maridueña, the actor playing Jaime, had to say a lot about the film. “This is really gonna be a stepping stone in my life. I’ve gotten the chance to build chemistry with these people over the years on Cobra Kai. To try to recreate that chemistry in a much shorter amount of time is gonna be difficult, but all of these guys are professionals. I know that I’m in the hands of people who are the best at what they do. The opportunity at Cobra Kai has really blessed me; I can do stunts, we can do crazy stuff. Adding this new level of green screen and suits and CGI and all of this will add a whole new crazy level to it that I’m so excited for,” he said.
