Suzanne Collins’ upcoming book installment for the beloved dystopian franchise ‘Hunger Gamesis set to hit shelves on March 18, 2025. According to the Associated Press, this fifth installment in Collins’ acclaimed series is a prequel, occurring 40 years after the events of ‘The Ballad of Songbirds and Snake‘. The film adaptation of this part premiered last year and was received quite well by the audiences.

Titled  ‘Sunrise on the Reaping‘, the upcoming book draws inspiration from David Hume’s concept of implicit submission and his observation on “the easiness with which the many are governed by the few,” as admitted by Collins herself.

Elaborating on the same, the author said that the book will explore themes of propaganda and the influence wielded by those who shape the narrative, with the existential question “Real or not real?” becoming increasingly relevant.
