Netflix on Tuesday took to several social media platforms to share a photo of the script, confirming that the film is set for production. Penned by Steven Knight, the highly anticipated movie will be directed by Tom Harper.

Cillian Murphy has also expressed his excitement about the project. “It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me… It is very gratifying to be re-collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans,” he said, as per Entertainment Tonight’s report.
Tom Harper, the director of the show, also opened up about his experience from over a decade ago. “When I first directed Peaky Blinders over 10 years ago, we didn’t know what the series would become, but we did know that there was something in the alchemy of the cast and the writing that felt explosive. Peaky has always been a story about family — and so it’s incredibly exciting to be reuniting with Steve and Cillian to bring the movie to audiences across the world on Netflix,” he said.

The ‘Peaky Blinders’ Film Is Likely To Be Set In World War II
Steven Knight also shared his excitement about the project, stating, “I’m genuinely thrilled that this movie is about to happen. It will be an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. No holds barred. Full-on Peaky Blinders at war.”
‘Peaky Blinders‘ is set in Birmingham, England, and follows the story of the infamous Shelby family as they build a criminal empire. As the story narrative progresses, the family members become key players in the city’s illegal bootlegging and betting operations after World War I.
With a star-studded cast including Helen McCrory, Tom Hardy, Paul Anderson, Sophie Rundle, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Finn Cole, the show has been received exceptionally well and is considered a hot of all times.
The details of the movie’s plot are currently under wraps. However, Knight has hinted that it would be “set in World War II,” during an interview in 2022 with Deadline. He also confirmed at the time that the film’s shooting will begin “in September just down the road in Digbeth [England].”
