‘Sherlock Holmes’ film series already has two parts and they managed to receive a very good response at the box office. The first part of ‘Sherlock Holmes’ was released in 2009 and the sequel arrived in 2011. The previous parts are especially known for the excellent performances of the lead characters.
The second part arrived almost 12 years ago. Although the developers confirmed the third part a long time ago, the film has not been released to the public so far. There have been several reports all this time regarding the development of the film and most of them are linked to the film’s screenplay and release date. ‘Sherlock Holmes 3’ Plot Details
For now, it is difficult to speculate the exact storyline for ‘Sherlock Holmes 3’ but we can expect it to pick up on the running theme of the bad guys trying to instigate the start of WW1. The screenplay is being developed so nothing much can be said for now.
The first film featured the detective who put serial killer Lord Henry Blackwood to justice and the culprit was eventually hanged in the end. Although Lord Blackwood was said to have killed his victims with supernatural means, Holmes and his partner believed that he used other tricks.
The second film featured Professor Moriarty, who is revealed to be the murderer of Irene Adler, the woman Holmes had feelings for. The final confrontation put Moriarty and Holmes down into an icy abyss which possibly led to their death. But the ending indicated that Holmes is alive and this will be revealed in the third film.

Release Date And Cast
As of now, there are very less details available regarding ‘Sherlock Holmes 3.’ However, it is confirmed that the film is under development. It was announced a long time back that however the production got delayed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Although ‘Sherlock Holmes 3’ is under development, we know that Warner Bros. has big plans for this franchise. So for now, we can speculate that audiences will be satisfied once the film releases on the big screen.
It is already confirmed that Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law would both reprise their roles of Sherlock and Watson. However, the other cast members are yet to be revealed.
