The lives of celebrities are filled with so much glamor and light that we often forget about their private lives. It is hard to imagine your favorite singer battling for their lives instead of playing at a concert. But at the end of the day, they are humans too. And so it seems singer Halsey did not tell her fans the full story of her personal life.
Now, she has finally opened up about the chronic illness that she has been suffering from. In an Instagram post, Halsey shared the news of her illness and her dropping a new album. She looked in pain and can be even seen breaking down in one of the videos. She also announced her new song ‘The End’.
Halsey Shares Heartbreaking Health Update
On her Instagram, Halsey shared a series of videos that revealed that the 29-year-old singer was battling a chronic disease. In the videos, we can see Halsey receiving some kind of infusion that can be assumed as chemotherapy. The singer tagged the accounts for the Lupus Research Alliance and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in her post. Both these accounts are nonprofit organizations funding lupus and blood cancer research respectively.
So it can only be assumed that Halsey is suffering from lupus and leukemia. “long story short, I’m Lucky to be alive. short story long, I wrote an album,” Halsey wrote in the caption of the post. The post consisted of various video documentation of Halsey’s journey in healing herself.
“I feel like an old lady,” Halsey is seen saying in the first video while rubbing her calves clearly in pain. “I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick… [When] I’m 30, I’m having a rebirth and I’m not gonna be sick and I’m gonna look super hot and have lots of energy, and I’m just gonna get to re-do my 20s in my 30s,” she continued to say.

Halsey Releases New Song ‘The End’
The Instagram post also showed Halsey strumming on her guitar and recording her new song ‘The End’. This song is part of her upcoming fifth album. The song alludes to her journey and struggles with chronic illness.
Halsey has been battling with her health for quite a long time now. The lyrics of the song read, “When I met you, I said I would never die / But the joke was always mine ‘cause I’m racing against time. And I know it’s not the end of the world, but could you pick me up at 8? / ‘Cause my treatment starts today.” Clearly, she is expressing her hurt, anxiety, pain and struggles with undergoing treatment for such a grueling disease.
