Women took home most of the awards at the 202r Grammys. From Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Victoria Monet and boygenius, all the nominated women won big, except for a few snubs.
While fans continued debating how much certain winners deserved the honors, there were also a lot of disappointed reactions to certain snubs. Here’s how SZA handled her Album of The Year snub and took the loss on a positive note.
“I Can’t Believe This Is Happening”: SZA On Grammy For Best R&B Song
One of the most critically acclaimed albums of the year, ‘SOS‘ peaked on all the charts and is SZA’s most successful piece of art since her debut. The album spent seven weeks on top and ended up making SZA the first woman to have the longest run for an album in the decade so far.
The album also featured various artists and became an instant hit with its lush aesthetics and brilliant songwriting. Though she took home the Grammy for Best R&B Song for ‘Snooze‘, fans were expecting that she should at least have won Album Of The Year.
Accepting her award, the singer got teary-eyed and said, “Sorry, I’m out of breath. because I was changing. Then I took a shot, and I ran here, for like 100 people. And to be on the stage with her is so amazing. I’m so grateful.”
“I would like to thank my parents, my mom and my dad, God, Top Dawg, Punch, all of TDE and my siblings at TDE, to my godparents, to my niece,” she added.
Continuing, she said, “I just… I’m sorry, I’m just really overwhelmed. You don’t really understand. I came really, really far, and I can’t believe this is happening, and it feels very fake.”
She ended her speech with a shoutout to Taylor Swift and said, “And… Hi Taylor! I love you. I’m just really grateful. And I’m not an attractive crier. Have a good evening.”

SZA Loses All The Major Awards
The ‘Kill Bill‘ artist was up for nine nominations- and fans were excited to see how many awards she would have swept. From being nominated for major awards like Song Of The Year, Record Of The Year, and Album Of The Year. Sadly, she lost the awards to Billie Eilish, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift.

Her fans were enraged and most of them believed that ‘SOS‘ deserved to win more than Taylor’s album did.
SOS was more iconic. Midnights honestly isn’t Taylor’s best album. I enjoy it but it shouldn’t have beat SZA whose work hasn’t left the top 10 since it dropped. A very obvious snub.

Talking about the snub, SZA said, “I’m grateful I won three. I could have left with nothing, and I didn’t, and I’m grateful. My parents got to see it and I didn’t bomb on live television, and that was so scary. And I faced some really big fears and I’m just happy that it all went well, genuinely and I’m happy for everybody.”
