Miguel Jontel Pimentel might have taken his own lyrics quite literally. The singer has not released any full-length album since 2017’s ‘War & Leisure’ and now is appearing with a boundary-pushing performance. Miguel wrote a song before his marriage to his long-time girlfriend Naznin Mandi.
But with his recent release, Miguel is taking the album to a different height. Although the new music video has no release date as of now, its promotion has surely created a buzz amongst the fans.

Miguel Disgusts Fans With Mind-Numbing Stunt
On Friday night, Miguel hosted a special Viscera Experience event at Sony Studios to promote this latest album ‘Viscera‘. The singer performed a jaw-dropping stunt, that actually left the audience in disgust. Just before the artist performed the song ‘Rope’, two of his assistants came out to pierce him with metal rods.
After piercing two pieces of metal through the skin on his back, Miguel was secured to wires and hoisted up into the air. While hanging in the air, he sang the song which included the lyrics, “I’m hanging on to nothing / I’m hanging from the ceiling / Rope around my neck”.

Miguel Shares His Painful Experience
As effortless as the stunt looked, it was much more painful than one can ever imagine. According to TMZ, Miguel has spent several months working with experts to prepare for the major stunt. Also during an interview with The Los Angeles Times, ‘The Dont Forget My Love‘ singer spoke about the ancient body modification practice, revealing that for him trust was the key.
Miguel also said, “Initially it was a bit of, What is the most extreme way to push outside of what’s expected? How far can I go in demonstrating how far I’m willing to go for art, for conversation? I couldn’t have known how committed I was to the real purpose of this s*** until I had hooks in my back.”
The singer further added, “It was a scary and freeing experience and emotion to go through because it’s such a light switch. It has so much to do with pain. What does pain mean?” Contemplating what pain means, Miguel described the journey as a “weird depressive experience. I don’t think I’d ever been in a place where I was creating from there.”
