People started to speculate that Lady Gaga was pregnant when she was seen by photographers at her sister’s wedding in a small Maine hamlet. Soon after, the star took to social media to speak up about the rumors – with a little help from Taylor Swift herself.

Gaga posted a ten-second video of herself with an audio that says, “I don’t have to find an aesthetic; I am the aesthetic. I mean, I’m sure there’s somebody out here right now who is going into Pinterest trying to type up all these adjectives to describe me.” In the caption she wrote, “Not pregnant – just down bad cryin at the gym,” a reference to Swift’s song ‘Down Bad’.

As fans rushed in to support her in the comments, Swift herself also commented, saying, “Can we all agree that it’s invasive & irresponsible to comment on a woman’s body. Gaga doesn’t owe anyone an explanation & neither does any woman” followed by a kissing emoji.

Gaga also used the video to create voting awareness as she urged everyone to exercise their voting rights.

Swift herself is no stranger to remarks about her body and her being pregnant; something she has endured since the beginning of her career and more specifically in recent years during her relationship with Joe Alwyn. In her documentary ‘Miss Americana’ she addressed this invasion, talking about how it gave her a negative body image of herself and developed an eating disorder.

“I remember how, when I was 18, that was the first time I was on the cover of a magazine, and the headline was like ‘Pregnant at 18?'” she recalled. “And it was because I had worn something that made my lower stomach look not flat. So I just registered that as a punishment.”

She then added that sometimes she would see “a picture of me where I feel like I looked like my tummy was too big, or… someone said that I looked pregnant … and that’ll just trigger me to just starve a little bit — just stop eating.”

As of now, fans have noted how she looks much healthier and happier as she embarks on her tour, the next stops of which are at the United Kingdom with Edinburgh being the first stop.
