    Annually, Billboard empowers and recognizes talented women in the music industry and gives them their deserved flowers. The 2023 edition of ‘The Billboard Women In Music Awards’ concluded on March 1st, 2023 at Los Angeles’ YouTube Theatre. Many powerhouse performers like Lana Del Ray, Rosalía, the K-Pop girl group TWICE, and others attended the event. However, a moment that Kim Petras and TWICE shared had the internet gushing!

    The transgender artist had a great run in 2022. She featured on Sam Smith’s mega-hit track ‘Unholy’. Despite being around in the industry for a long time, the world noticed this young artist. She made a Grammy debut, performed at the event, and even won the coveted trophy along with Sam Smith. The K-Pop group TWICE released their single in 2023 titled ‘Moonlight Sunrise’ which is a hit and peaked among other songs on Billboard 100.     Sam Smith released his fourth studio album ‘Gloria’. The songs from the album got heavy backlash due to the liberating, sexual content in the music videos. Despite the criticisms, one of the songs ‘Unholy’ with Kim became a chartbuster blazing on every social media platform.

    The artists created history with the song. Kim became the first transgender artist to have her song chart at the No.1 position on Billboard. The two won the Grammy in the ‘Best Pop Duo/Group Performance’ making her the first transgender artist to have won the Grammy in that category.

    Now, it is evident that the song had a massive global impact. The famous K-Pop Group TWICE has admired Petras for her song. TWICE is an all-girl group consisting of nine members. The group, like many musical groups, formed during a reality TV show ‘Sixteen’. They made their debut in 2015. The group has two songs on Billboard 100 namely ‘The Feels’ and their latest single ‘Moonlight Sunrise’. TWICE have three albums in the top 100 of the Billboard 200 list.

    The group and Kim met at the recent ‘Billboard Women In Music Awards’. Petras has been part of Once, the moniker of the fans of the group. She has been posting their songs on her Instagram stories. Petras has been writing songs for many leading artists in the industry like Charli XCX, Rihanna, and the group. She co-wrote the song ‘Young & Wild’ with Chaeyoung.

    Now, they reunited during the event and a clip from the event has been going viral. In the clip, we see the artist interacting with the group during the rehearsals and Chaeyoung says, “I love your song’ referring to ‘Unholy’. The fans have gone into a frenzy after the video.

    During the awards night, Kim Petras and TWICE performed. Petras performed her new single ‘Brrr’ and the group performed ‘Moonlight Sunrise’ from their upcoming mini album ‘Ready To Be’.
