This is not the first time that Matty Healy is causing controversy. Earlier this year, he had gestured a Nazi salute on stage. This happened while he sang the song Love It If We Made It which was critical of Kanye West. Back in 2019, the English singer also kissed a man while performing in Dubai. The act was also defensive of the country’s anti-LGBT laws.
Following the cancellation of the music festival in Malaysia, the pop-rock band has called off its performances in Taiwan and Indonesia. The concerts were to happen on July 23 and 25. Matty Healy says that the band has been banned from Malaysia.
