Beyoncé had a wildly successful year as she cemented her stance as the undisputed pop queen! The year started with Queen Bey creating history with her chart-topping album ‘Renaissance’. Later, she announced the ‘Renaissance World Tour’, which became one of the highest-grossing tours of all time.
Beyoncé has transcended the boundaries of genre when it comes to her music. She has collaborated with artists from electronic, pop, and hip-hop. In the latter genre, she also dabbled in her 2018 monumental song with Jay-Z titled ‘Apes**t’. While the year has been very successful for female rappers like Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj, the Atlanta-based rapper, Trina, has crowned the ‘Formation’ artist as the queen of rap, causing friction between stans on the internet.
Trina Thinks Beyoncé Is The Number One Rapper
There has always been a debate over who should be crowned the queen of rap in this heavily male-dominated genre. There have been many female rap artists who defined an era. There were your Queen Latifahs, Lil Kims, and Lauryn Hills. Currently, Nicki Minaj is touted as the ‘Queen of Rap’ by the majority, but Trina thinks that the title belongs to Beyoncé.
During an interview with HipHopDX, the Atlanta-based rapper, Trina, said that Beyoncé is the number one female rapper when asked about the new female rappers emerging on the scene. She said, “Yeah, Beyoncé ‘cause she’s like the number one female rapper when she does rap.”
Trina added, “It’s just one of those things like of course this is the Queen Beyoncé, but when you hear her do a song and it’s rapping involved, it’s like, ‘Oh my God,’ like it just, it’s more inspiration and, um, I don’t know it’s just a good thing, man.” Her statement has caused stan wars on X.

The Rapper Schooled Critics Over Her Comment
Trina took it to Instagram to clap back at her critics who disagreed with her. She wrote on her Instagram story, “For the dusty crusty funky b***hes in the bacccckkkk, Beyoncé is the queen of rap (when she raps) and ALL other genres of music. Now stay mad goofy’s I said what I said and NANN b***h gone check me. Carry on.”
The rapper thinks Beyoncé is the queen of rap and other genres for her, which has caused a stir on the internet, dividing BeyHives from other stans.

trina saying “beyoncé is the queen of rap (when she raps)” immediately proves why she doesn’t know tf she’s talking about. beyoncé is not a rapper. she raps here and there but she’s not a rapper by trade. can’t be the queen of rap when you’re not a RAPPER pic.twitter.com/fO2KAu0qsj

weird, the question was actually about who has influenced and who is responsible for the resurgence of female rap and trina said "Beyonce the queen of rap"??? like girl… who twisted and turned that so bad to NOT say nicki minaj and "queen of rap" in the same sentence
